CHAPEL CLUB // O MAYBE I // MUSIC VIDEO

Holy shit, is that Martin Rossiter circa '94? Could have swore that was Gene. But hey, we've been known to get it wrong from time to time.

These dudes rock. Chapel Club from Dalston, East London. Came out of nowhere really and looks set to take indie-dom by storm. Might be the new look for us, cardigans and hairspray.

Gonna burn our New Era caps and Nike Dunks.

SLICE & SODA // YEAR OF THE DRAGON // INSTITUBES

We love it when stuff like that gets dropped in our inbox on Mondays. In between putting together a workable game plan for our impending move from the leafy confines of North London to the daily excess of East London, at least we can hang out with the Bangladeshis. And the amazing Tayyab's curry house is just round the corner. Moving homes suck. We like popping the bubble wrap.

At least we got the playlist sorted. French hip hop's great. They don't take themselves too seriously. loadsa crazy effects and lyrics we can't understand. Brilliant. French producer, Para One, of TTC fame drops a funky, electro-tinged ditty, 'Year Of The Dragon' under his new guise as Slice & Soda on the uber chic, Institubes label. Might just move to Paris instead.

Check it out here.

DEADMAU5 // MAKE ME MAKE THAT SOUND // PLAY RECORDS

What is it about Fridays and big room electro house?

We have no clue but it kinda makes sense, so here's the ubiquitous deadmau5 (aka Joel Zimmerman) with a stompin Miami styled monster that's sure to get the Latino girls wobblin' like guacamole on ice. Slightly borders on the side of cheese, but hey, who gives a fuck. The girls love it and so do we.

Check out, 'Make Me Make That Sound' taken off the album, 'deadmau5 At Play Volume 2' out on Play Records this Spring. Get ravey.

TAPE TO TAPE // DEVIL MADE ME DO IT I (C90 REMIX) // RELISH

Lets get disco-fied on a gloomy Wednesday morning.

We've substituted Doritos & Pringles for pistachios & raisins, wondering if it's actually the healthier option after all. We make certain lifestyle choices during the week to feel better about our binge drinking and recreational drug use on weekends. We wanna quit but can't seem to do it. Might go the Pete Doherty route and remove our natural brain opiates. We won't feel a damn thing then. No fags, no drugs, no booze. Perfect.

Well, we definitely want to feel London's Tapes to Tapes new single, 'Devil Made Me Do It' out on Headman's Relish Recordings. Old school vintage synth action galore, it's like a natural high. Might just stick to this then. Check out The C90s Remix here.

OCELOT // OUR TIME (CALVERTRON REMIX) // WALL OF SOUND

More Ocelot shenanigans  this time round. These guys know how to liven it up. Check out the video below.

Bristol's Calvertron goes for the in-yer-face, wonky big room effect we love to hear on Monday mornings.

Download the remix here.

CHAPEL CLUB // O MAYBE I // EAST CITY RECORDINGS

We love name dropping buzz bands. Kinda shows that we're in the know, penultimate scenesters, with our finger on the pulse sort of thing. We wanna be the cool kids even if it's just for a day. We choose not to engage in the tiresome discourse and boring rhetoric. We just wanna stick on our old Obituary records and pretend we're John Tardy growling, 'Slowly We Rot'.

Here today, gone tomorrow. But we're living in the now and these guys drop it like it's hot.

Download Chapel Club's new single 'O Maybe I' here.

MYD // TRAIN TO BAMAKO // MENTAL GROOVE RECORDS

Grey Mondays. They're the worse.

Can't believe the Togolese football team's press officer got gunned down in the line of duty. K.I.A. The hazard's of the profession. We honour you fallen comrade.

On the African tip this time round is young French upstart, Myd, with his stellar production, 'Train To Bamako', taken off 'Radioclit Presents: Saga Africa EP' out on Mental Groove now.

Download it here.

FREESTYLERS // PAST PRESENT & FUTURE E.P // FREESTYLERS RECORDS

Unbelievable.

The thermometer clocked a groin shrinking minus 15 degrees last night. Frankly, we've had just about enough of this cold shit. It's not funny anymore. So it snowed a couple of days, we got outside, made snowmen, took some photos, saying how lovely our inner city borough looks covered in the white stuff. But fuck this, we want the heat back. Promise we won't complain anymore.

Feeling the heat are West London's finest, Freestylers, who are back in the 2K10 mix with a brand new E.P, 'Past, Present & Future'. Remember the old school rave-tastic anthems? 'Ruffneck'? 'Don't Stop The Rock'? Ha. Feels like it's '98 all over again.

Check out 'Bounce To This' and get those dusty breaks 12"s outta the cupboard!

GOMMA DANCE TRACKS EP 2

Snowed in today.

Might as well party to Gomma's new 'Dance Tracks EP 2' while sipping chamomile tea from your Superman mug.

We love Martin Brodin & Dumb Dan's, 'Blood Stud'.

dan le sac VS SCROOBIUS PIP // GET BETTER (VILLA VOCAL REMIX) // SUNDAY BEST

Yes, we're back and we've made it. Crossed over from one decade into the next. Still remember the mild hysteria surrounding the '99 / Y2K transition with total system failures, bank accounts getting wiped out and all that. In the end, the only thing that happened was that Britney Spears got to number one with 'Baby One More Time' and The Verve spit up. That's about as punk rock as it got. Wonder what's the defining moment of 2K9?

Anyways, ready to kick it 2k10 style are our fav electro-hop thespians, dan le sac VS Scroobius Pip, with their brand new single, 'Get Better' taken off the highly anticipated sophomore album, 'The Logic Of Chance', out later this spring. Check out Villa's vocal remix here. This might just be a great year ahead.
